Well I bought a Clarion NZ500 Headunit for my truck a few months back and I recently found out there was a update. Applying the update was strait forward and easy to follow. However to access the update menu you need to go to parental password screen and type in 200802 which unlocks the update menus.
Well last night I was having problem with my Ipod not playing video. I could here hear the music but no picture. I figured it out as being the latest jailbreak broke the video out so I did a restore and everything works great.
But now the cool part. I notice that while still in the menu when you enter the code is just the standard setting menu's. After entering the code, under audio it had new features as well. You are able to adjust the gain for all functions the headunit does.
I noticed right after having it install that the Ipod sounded very low in comparison too the tuner or dvd. But now with that hidden menu I was able to turn the gain from 1 to 7 and now the Ipod matches the rest.
Sweet

Entone Amulet HD IPTV STB
Well I recently had IPTV installed from my local telco company. The service uses the Entone Amulet HD as the set-top-box but the package I choose did not include the PVR function. I know from looking at them at their office they are the same box's so it peaked my interest as to what makes the difference.
After everything was installed and the guy left I opened the case up... LOL What I found was a space for the hard drive and a IDE port as well as a power port so I got to work.
First I found a old IDE cable and next I had to find a male to male power connector. I was lucky and found a power Y splitter and I knew that it would work.
So I hooked everything up and turned the unit on. On the first screen it recognized the hard drive and start formatting it after a 60 second delay. At this point I was smiling from ear to ear but I knew it was to go to be true and sadly it was.
I was watching a show and when I would hit the record key it would say "This service is disabled by your service provider". Well when I first got this box I read the manual and learned that there is a special menu that requires a special key press which is "Input and then menu" and that brings up some settings for remotes and hard drive information as well as a "advanced menu". I was hoping that there would be something to enable the PVR function but was meet with a password screen. Unlike the normal 4 digit code you use in the normal menu this could have up to 7 digits. The password was "entone" spelled using the corresponding number. It took me half a day to figure that out.
Once within the advanced menu there were only a few functions none of which helps me. You can see system versions and boot image versions. I will open the menu up later and post all the information.
One last thing... In the help menu it list most of the software as opensource so I am wondering if after getting the source I can unlock all features that my provider disables.
Update to come...
